The MAX933EPA+ is a low-cost, ultra-low-power, CMOS comparator that offers excellent functional and parametric characteristics. Most notably, the MAX933EPA+ is a single-bit comparator featuring a Green/RoHS-compliant ‘gold’ SOIC package. The MAX933EPA+ family has been designed to provide very low supply current (lss) while consuming a very low quiescent current, making it ideal for battery-powered applications. With a wide power supply voltage range of 2.5V to 5.5V and a wide common-mode input voltage range of 0V to VCC, the MAX933EPA+ enables reliable operation in a wide range of applications.

The MAX933EPA+ can be used in a variety of linear comparators. In a linear comparator, a voltage is input through two ports, and based on the relative magnitudes of the voltages, a resolution is made. For example, a linear comparator can be used to measure the relative magnitude of two voltages and indicate whether one is less than the other. This type of comparator is an ideal choice for logic applications, such as in switch control circuits and analog threshold detection circuits.
