A comparator is an electronic device which compares two input signal voltages, and changes its output state depending on which voltage is larger. The basic circuit consists of a voltage sensing stage and a comparison stage. The voltage sensing stage translates the incoming signal to a digital representation, while the comparison stage compares the two input signals and determines which voltage is larger. The MAX944ESD+T works in this fashion, except that it is a low-cost, precision comparator.

The MAX944ESD+T has a comparator input stage with a very low offset voltage. This ensures accurate and reliable comparison of input signals.
