MAX982CPA is a linear voltage comparator. It includes an on-chip bandgap voltage reference and comparator that provides rail-to-rail output. The low power consumption, low offset voltage, and low supply current make the MAX982CPA ideal for battery-operated systems. It operates from a single +2.7V to +5.5V supply, and features a shutdown control pin for ultra-low power consumption.

The design of MAX982CPA simplifies system interface and reduces the number of external components. The comparator is designed to allow up to +2V of common-mode input range, while still coming within the recommended range provided in the datasheet. In addition, the reference voltage is buffered from the output, allowing for a clean output swing from 0V to VCC.

The MAX982CPA features an open-drain output and is ideal for use as a voltage detector with hysteresis. The hysteresis feature allows the input to toggle between two different levels before the output will change state. The hysteresis can be adjusted using an external resistor, allowing for a wide range of thresholds to be set. The MAX982CPA comes in a low-profile 6-pin SOT23 package, making it well-suited for portable and space-constrained applications. It has an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, and is rated for 3000V Human Body Model ESD protection. It is available in reels of 250 pieces and is RoHS compliant.
