The MAX983CSA-T Comparator is a member of the MAX983 family of op-amps and comparators from Maxim. This device is a low-power, low voltage precision voltage comparator, and is specifically designed for applications where a high level of precision is required to accurately compare voltages within the same power supply range. The MAX983CSA-T features extended common mode/voltage-offset input capability, wide common-mode input voltage range, and robust output drive capabilities. The MAX983CSA-T Comparator operates in a single-ended mode, where one of the inputs is connected to a reference voltage, and the other input is compared to this voltage to determine if the compared voltage is higher or lower than the reference voltage. This Comparator is also capable of accepting inputs with a wide common-mode (CM) voltage range of 0.2V to (Vdd - 1.25V) as well as very low offsets. The typical offset voltage is less than 2.25mV and is well suited for applications with critical levels of accuracy such as automotive and industrial control systems.

The MAX983CSA-T is capable of providing a fast response time for comparison purposes. This Comparator is able to achieve a fast propagation delay of 22ns, fast enough for use in high speed signal processing applications. The MAX983CSA-T also operates over an extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and is available in a small TDFN-8 package, making it ideal for portable and battery operated equipment such as barcode scanners and other low-power device.
