MBR2X030A060 is a two pair series Schottky Rectifier Arrays from STMicroelectronics, which is designed to replace the standard double diode configuration with Schottky technology. Working Principle

The MBR2X030A060 uses a unique Schottky Barrier Rectifier technology, which provides a low forward voltage drop and eliminates the need for a system of two diodes, usually two rectifier diodes in parallel, thereby reducing design complexity and resulting in superior power dissipation, higher thermal stability and higher efficiency than two series of two diodes. Essentially, the device is designed like a bridge rectifier and consists of two forwardly-connected diodes, each pair being connected to 2 separate terminals. When the current passes through the device, it is composed of two series of identical pairs of diodes, each pair being connected to the corresponding terminal. The device then acts as a rectifier, as each pair of diodes works together to process current in a single direction, and two diodes of the pair oppose current flow in the opposite direction.

Moreover, it is also designed with low forward voltage drop and the series diode set operates in the avalanche mode, thus serving to reduce the peak inverse voltage stress.
