This is accomplished by setting the two clock-control lines; one of these 12 control lines sets the serial-in data transfer mode, while the other one sets the parallel-out data transfer mode.Additionally, the MC14094BDR2G offers two output enable modes, namely the active Low and active High output enable ports. The active Low output enable port is activated when the 3-bit OE control line is set to Low. This enables the data present in the latch to be output in parallel via the 8-bit output port. The active High output enable port, on the other hand, is activated by setting the OE control line to High.
