The MC15XS3400DHFKR2 is a high performance integrated power management IC (PMIC) designed for power resource management and distribution of multiple processors, peripherals and memory devices in a fixed platform application. As a power distribution switch, load driver, and voltage regulator with pulse-width modulation (PWM) and linear control capability, MC15XS3400DHFKR2 offers high level of flexibility in configuring and controlling power applications.

The device offers high performance, low quiescent current, and comprehensive power and signal protection features. The integrated high performance and low quiescent current make this device a perfect solution for power resource management in application requiring high dynamic load switching with reliable signal protection.

The MC15XS3400DHFKR2 includes a buck and boost switching regulator, two step-up and one step-down DC/DC converters, a Pulse Controlled Modulator (PWM) controller to control the switching regulator, and a thermal control and protection controller. Its integrated Pulse Controlled Mode (PWM) control design enables fast dynamic response with high current deliver capability for a wide array of loads.

At the heart of the MC15XS3400DHFKR2 are its two configurable power rails for the buck and boost switching regulator, the two step-up and one step-down DC/DC converters. It supports a wide range of voltage levels from 0.5 to 10.5 V and provide a ±1% output accuracy.

On the power source side, the MC15XS3400DHFKR2 provides over voltage, under voltage, over current and load dumping protection. Storage capacitors or batteries as power supply source are supported. It also provides built-in high reverse current protection, device reset and logic high voltage input voltage range selection.

The device also provides two Pulse Controlled Modulation (PWM) PWM controller channels, which are used to control the buck, boost, and step-up, step-down regulator voltage rail. The PWM controller features linear rise/fall control to enhance the output current capability and reduce output noise.
