Power Factor Correction (PFC) is a technical term that describes a method of controlling the electrical load on power supplies. PFC contributions to the power electronics industry include a reduction in the harmonic distortion that is generated by the power supply, improved power efficiency, and a decrease in utility bills. The MC33262DR2 is an integrated system-on-chip (SoC) for active power factor correction (PFC) and other power conditioning applications.
