Working Principle of MC33388D

The MC33388D consists of an integrated power management and gate drive circuit. Its power management circuit takes input from a high voltage DC source, reduces the voltage, and supplies the gate driver signal. The gate driver has a high common-mode voltage range, wide temperature operating range and features ESD protection. The gate driver turns the transistor on and off in a very precise manner to control their power levels. It has two MOSFET inputs and each one can supply up to 20A peak current and 3A continuous current.

The MC33388D also has adjustable dead time to reduce noise and EMI effects caused by the turn-off of the transistors.
