It is designed to provide designers with simple, versatile, low-cost precision control of power supply output current or voltage. It can be used as a motor driving current or voltage regulator, as well as general purpose power supply controller.MC33299DR2 is classified under the Interface - Drivers, Receivers, Transceivers category. By adopting a true digital power supply configuration with the MC33299DR2, system designers are able to specify the exact power supply output current and/or voltage, depending on their application specific needs.The MC33299DR2 is a universal driver IC that can be used to control a range of different power supplies. It can be used to drive a range of resistive and inductive loads, including motors and solenoids. Furthermore, it has the capability to drive both high and low side MOSFETs, making it suitable for both high-side and low-side power supply configurations.This product is capable of accepting an array of input signals, such as inhibit, enable and manual reset. As outputs, it can deliver voltage or current-mode control signals to the power MOSFETs for controlling and setting the power supply output. This control process is further enhanced by the integrated proprietary state machine and adaptive control algorithms, resulting in improved efficiency, reduced component count and improved system performance.When operating in a current-controlled mode, the current to the power supply output is monitored, and the PWM duty cycle is adjusted (controlled) according to the differences between current setting and the actual power output. On the other hand, when operating in voltage-controlled mode, the voltage to the power supply output is monitored, and the PWM duty cycle is adjusted (controlled) according to the difference between the voltage setting and the actual power output. Overall, the MC33299DR2 provides a high degree of flexibility through advanced state machine logic and adaptive control algorithms, and is extremely useful for designers looking to create advanced, accurate, and cost-effectives solutions with easy design-in possibilities.
