The MC74LCX07MELG is a Logic - Buffers, Drivers, Receivers, Transceivers device. It is a low power dual 4-bit digital buffer that operates from a single 5V power supply with very low power consumption. It features low propagation delay as low as 9ns, and enabled/disabled logic outputs that allow it to be used as a buffer or a transceiver.The MC74LCX07MELG can be used in various application fields. It can be used for translation of the 3.3V or 2.5V logic signals to the 5V levels, for increasing the drive capabilities of the data bus lines, or for buffering or isolating address or data bus lines from the system. It is often used in applications such as memory systems, microcomputer-based instrumentation, and in general purpose digital systems for buffer/driver capability. In terms of working principle, the MC74LCX07MELG device contains two 4-bit buffers and a latch that holds the contents of the buffers. The upper cylinder of each buffer contains four 3-state outputs that can be operated as either totem-pole outputs or 3-state outputs. The lower cylinder contains four non-inverting buffer outputs that can be used to interface with devices that have open-drain, push-pull, or mixed output structures. The 3-state outputs can be enabled by an active-low Enable input, or inhibited by an active-high Disable input.
