The MC78L24ACPRPG is a monolithic medium-power positive linear voltage regulator integrated circuit (IC) developed by ON Semiconductor. It is a three-terminal device available in two package types—an 8-pin plastic DIP and a Surface Mount Device (SMD). It is equipped with over-current protection and thermal shut down in order to protect itself against catastrophic failure under extreme conditions.

The main control circuit consists of a reference voltage source, an output voltage generator, a voltage divider and a current-limiting circuit.
