Its low dropout and low output impedance make the MC79M08BT extremely well-suited for space-constrained and cost-sensitive applications.This integrated circuit features a precision voltage reference that ensures accuracy and stability, robust output current limiting and protection circuitry to guard against overloads, and reverse avalanche breakdown mode that provides superior output dynamic response. The MC79M08BT is designed to dissipate very little heat and withstand extreme stress, making it an ideal choice when reliability and performance at low voltage levels are required. The device also has a temperature range of -40°C to +125°C and a wide operating range of -0.3V to -40V.The output voltage of the MC79M08BT is adjustable and depends on external resistor and capacitor values, as shown in the following formula:VOUT = VREF * [1 + (R1/R2)] where VREF is typically -1.25 V and R1 and R2 are the two external resistors connected to the device.In operation, the MC79M08BT drives the base of the internal PNP transistor with a minimum output impedance.
