The MC92604VM is capable of transmitting and receiving data from 3.3V to 12V, making it suitable for use in both low voltage and high voltage applications.

The MC92604VM\'s three channels are independently configurable for receiving, transmitting and monitoring and can be configured for any of the five Ethernet-type baud rates (50, 75, 110, 150 and 300 baud). Versatility is further provided through configurable receive and transmit options including invert or non-invert data fields, number of start/stop bits, length of break/mark signals, parity control and an interrupt pulse on receiving.

The MC92604VM also features various working states, providing dynamic power management features. These features allow users to save energy and reduce system cost. The three states include the full-power state, standby state, and sleep state. It can also detect errors in the data stream, parity and framing errors, and supports stop/start/break/mark signals. The DSP handles all interface communication tasks, allowing the processor to focus on other tasks.
