The MCIMX536AVV8B processor is a system-on-chip (SoC) from Cosine Series in NXP’s advanced LPC3250 industrial family. It is a low-power ARM® Cortex™-A8 processor designed to meet the most advanced embedded processing requirements. The device combines an advanced ARM Cortex A8 core processor with power management features in a single, cost-effective package.The CPU core integrated into the MCIMX536AVV8B is the powerful ARM Cortex-A8, operating at speeds as high as 1 GHz (1.2GHz max). The ARM Cortex-A8 delivers excellent computational performance while still maintaining low power levels. The processor integrates a powerful floating point coprocessor (VFP 9.1, dual FP) along with a unified L2 cache. For complex algorithms such as those used for signal processing and 3D graphics, the ARM Cortex-A8 provides significantly better performance than a typical M-class processor.

The MCIMX536AVV8B also integrates a wide range of peripherals such as a direct memory access (DMA) controller, up to three USB ports, a CANbus, up to four UARTs and/or I2C devices. The CANbus interface allows for efficient real-time communication and connection to other microcontroller devices, such as those used in automotive applications. Other device peripherals include four USb 2.0 ports, an SDIO interface, up to two SPI and/or I2C interfaces, up to four general-purpose I/O ports, and an integrated debug mode.

The MCIMX536AVV8B draws power directly from a wide range of sources, including AC and DC.
