Application Field

Working Principle
The MCIMX6Y2CVM08AA uses a 32-bit dual-core ARM Cortex-A7 processor, clocked at a maximum frequency of 1GHz. The processor is fabricated in a 28 nm Low Power Plus process technology and includes an integrated vector floating point processor. This processor includes two on-chip level-one caches (L1D and L1I) operating up to a maximum frequency of 1GHz and a 512k byte on-chip level-two cache (L2) operating up to the same frequency. The MCIMX6Y2CVM08AA incorporates an integrated Digital Power Management Unit (DPMU) that can be used to dynamically manage power based on system requirements.
The processor also includes Programmer\'s Debug Interface (PDI), JTAG and Serial Wire Debug (SWD) ports which are used for debugging and programming the processor. The processor has a rich set of high speed peripherals, such as three Serial Communication Interfaces (SCI), four 16-bit FlexCAN controllers, one high speed USB 2.0 controller, two gigabit Ethernet MACs, three 4-channel DMA controllers, and two CoreSight debug and trace components. The MCIMX6Y2CVM08AA processor also includes a Real Time Clock (RTC) to keep track of time and date even in the event of a system reset.
The MCIMX6Y2CVM08AA supports wide temperature operation from -40 to 105 degree Celsius, and is rated to operate over an extended supply voltage range of 0.8V to 1.4V, making it well suited for applications requiring extended system lifetimes and minimal power consumption.
The MCIMX6Y2CVM08AA processor is supported by NXP\'s suite of embedded software tools, such as the Metaware Standard Library, PowerVane and ReadyPlay tools, and an extensive application library of third-party software packages. This allows developers to design embedded systems with minimum effort and time, while taking advantage of the ample performance and low power capabilities of the MCIMX6Y2CVM08AA processor.
