Working Principles of MCP4131T-503E/MS

The MCP4131T-503E/MS digital potentiometer consists of 3 terminals- VDD (Positive power supply terminal), VSS(Ground terminal) and the VOUT connection which directly affects the output voltage. The digital potentiometer includes a virtual wiper circuit that adjusts the resistance of a resistive element. The resistive element can be configured in a linear, logarithmic, or path-dependent manner which allows the digital potentiometer a wide range of applications.
