The MCP47FV family of high performance, low cost, 8-/10-bit buffered voltage output Digital-to-Analog converters (DACs) provides up to 2 MHz bandwidth and is ideal for applications that require fast, precise and robust data conversion performance. These low-power, voltage output DACs support a choice of either 2.7V or 5V output range, with single reference configurations and programmable I2C modes.

The MCP47FVB22A3T-E/ST is a single chip, integrated digital-to-analog converter designed for fast and precise data conversion performance in data acquisition applications. It is specifically designed to meet the demanding requirements of motor control, medical devices and industrial process control applications. The device offers a wide range of resolutions—8 bits up to 10 bits—and is capable of up to 2MHz update rate. The MCP47FVB22A3T-E/ST supports a wide range of power supply range—from 2.7V to 5V—which can be configurable in two ways: Single Reference and Programmable I2C Mode.

The MCP47FVB22A3T-E/ST offers configurable gain and offset registers to support multiple reference voltages. Working Principle

The MCP47FVB22A3T-E/ST is a voltage output digital-to-analog converter that can convert digital data into analog voltages. It operates on the principle of resistive charge-feeding to generate an analog voltage signal, whose sideband noise is limited by the 6-bit noise-shaping loop. Its performance is further improved by trimming the integral nonlinearity offset to 15LSb.

The MCP47FVB22A3T-E/ST accepts input digital data in either 8-bit or 10-bit resolution. When the input data has more than 8 bits, the converter will scale the data down to 8 bit resolution, keeping the same linearity for each bit. Additionally, the device includes a buffered voltage output that provides a very reliable and stable voltage output, free from noise and glitches. The device also features an internal reference, providing a very accurate and low-noise voltager output.

The MCP47FVB22A3T-E/ST can also be configured for independent or synchronous conversion, depending on the application requirements.
