Working Principle

The DAC output voltage is determined by the value of the digital word sent to the MCP4911-E/P. The output voltage is determined by the following equation: Vout = Vref x D/2N, where D is the digital word sent to the DAC, N is the resolution (10 for the MCP4911-E/P), and Vref is the voltage reference. Vref is externally supplied and can be any value from 0 to 2.5 V.
