Solid State Relays (SSRs) are devices that control on and off states of a given load. The MCSP4825AS resembles the traditional Electromechanical Relays (EMRs) in terms of function but use of solid state components to achieve the same control. It does not contain moving parts making it more reliable and durable than the EMRs. The working principle of the MCSP4825AS can best be understood through its most essential components, the zero-crossing detector, insulation transformer and power control element. The zero-crossing detector is responsible for sensing the AC signal. The AC signal detected will be used to trigger the insulated transistor, then the insulated transistor will drive the power control element, such as a SSR, to on/off the load.
