The MF52A472J3470 uses the resistive-switching phenomena which is a result of the physical changes of a thermistor material. A thermistor material is a semiconductor material that has an intrinsic temperature coefficient (TK) which is an indication of its resistance/ temperature relationship. It basically means that the resistance changes with the temperature of the material and this change can be used to measure temperature. A NTC thermistor has a negative TK, and the resistance decreases as the temperature of the thermistor increases.The MF52A472J3470 consists of a ceramic body with two metal electrodes. When the temperature of the NTC thermistor changes, the resistance of the metal electrodes also changes, otherwise known as a change in the TCR (Temperature Coefficient of Resistance).
