MH-1516 electronic gas flow meter is a multi-purpose gas flow meter operating on the mechanical principle of differential pressure measurement. The meter consists of one or more pairs of identical differential pressure sensing elements. It is driven by a magnetic field driven actuator that allows for extensive onsite variations in operating ranges and accuracies. The sensing elements feature two chambers each with two pressures, referred to as static and differential, which allow the device to sense gas flow with minimal pressure loss.

The meter measures and displays volumetric gas flow rate based on the differential pressure generated by the chamber. The differential pressure sensing element measures the pressure difference across the chamber when there is a gas flow as well as zero return, steady state and non-steady state flow conditions. The linearization of the reading is achieved by applying a polynomial curve fit to the differential pressure versus volumetric gas flow rate.

MH-1516 electronic gas flow meters are equipped with an integrated LED display that provides information on flow rate, totalized flow, temperature, pressure, and other diagnostic information. The device is also provided with a digital communication port, enabling remote monitoring of the metering output. This feature allows the operators to remotely monitor the metering output and adjust the set-points for the desired metric readings. It also enables alarm notifications and other gas related information to be sent to a variety of external devices for monitoring and communication.

For flow ranges exceeding the capacity of the MH-1516, multiple meters can be combined in a series to increase accuracy and provide enhanced pressure-loss compensation. Additionally, the meters are also equipped with a bleed line allowing for an extended operating range. Each of the two sensing elements works independently and processes the differential pressure before it is converted to a volumetric flow rate.
