The MIC2027-2YM-TR is a digital power distribution switch, load driver and fan controller IC with low current load (0.5 A) and high current load (5A) output capability. It provides a system solution for efficient power distribution, load driving, and fan control in single board applications.

The MIC2027-2YM-TR is a high-frequency, buck-and-boost regulator with a wide input voltage range. It has two low-side, MOSFET drivers and one high-side, MOSFET driver. The low current output is ideal for controlling and distributing small loads, such as LEDs and small microcontroller/microprocessor loads. The high current output can drive and control fans, motors, and other high-current loads. The driver and fan controllers are fully integrated into the IC and are programmable via software.

The MIC2027-2YM-TR operates inn continuously adjustable boost, buck, or buck-and-boost mode. This mode switching is enabled via hardware control or by software. The IC enables an external voltage source, such as battery, to be used as the input source and an output power rail to be generated without the need of an external controller. Additional features include over-current protection, over-temperature protection, under-temperature protection, over-voltage protection, and reverse-battery protection.

The MIC2027-2YM-TR supports many operating modes of applications. The IC meets the requirements for Automotive Safety Integrity Level (ASIL) B and incorporates a wide temperature range from -40° C to 125° C.
