MIC2211-MSYML-TR
The MIC2211-MSYML-TR is a three terminal linear voltage regulator that is designed to provide excellent power supply rejection and low power dissipation. It is a low dropout (LDO) linear regulator with a very low maximum dropout voltage and a wide range of output voltages. The MIC2211-MSYML-TR is ideal for use in medical, consumer, and automotive applications such as LCD panel backlighting, power conversion and logic power rails, voltage busses, and RFPA supply rails.Application Field
In applications where space and power dissipation are at a premium, the MIC2211-MSYML-TR is an ideal choice. This voltage regulator is capable of regulating supplies with input voltages ranging from 9V to 24V and output voltages ranging from 1.5V to 15V. As it is stable with an output capacitance as low as 1µF, it is an ideal choice for applications with limited board space. The extremely low dropout voltage of the MIC2211-MSYML-TR combined with its fast transient response make it a great choice for powering unstable loads such as digital logic.The MIC2211-MSYML-TR is designed for use in low power applications. It is capable of providing up to 1A of output current with a dropout voltage of only 0.45V and total quiescent current of only 20µA. This makes the device suitable for a wide range of energy efficient solutions such as solar powered systems. Its excellent temperature stability and wide input voltage range makes it suitable for use in automotive and other extreme temperature applications.Working Principle
The MIC2211-MSYML-TR is a linear voltage regulator that works on the principle of regulating an input voltage to a constant output voltage. Internally, the device utilizes an operational amplifier, a reference circuit, and a power source. The operational amplifier is configured to compare the reference voltage with the input voltage. If the reference voltage is higher than the input voltage, the operational amplifier will output a signal to reduce the input voltage, as well as increase the current and voltage of the output. The output voltage remains constant because the operational amplifier will continue to adjust the input voltage to maintain a consistent difference between the reference voltage and the input voltage.The MIC2211-MSYML-TR can achieve a very low maximum dropout voltage of 0.45V, due to the device’s optimized internal architecture. This low dropout voltage allows the voltage regulator to maintain a consistently regulated output voltage, even when the input supply is significantly lower than the output voltage. The device is also designed with excellent power supply rejection and transient response, making it well suited for applications with electrical noise or rapidly changing input voltages.The MIC2211-MSYML-TR is an excellent choice for a wide range of low power applications.
