The MIC2215-PPPBML-EV from Microchip is a high-performance, low voltage, synchronous, buck DC to DC converter evaluation board (EV). This EV board is designed to offer high-efficiency, ripple and noise suppression, and protection features in a variety of voltage regulation applications. The board is suitable for 2.5V to and 6V input and output voltages, with an output power of up to 10.5W.

The board is based on a Microchip MCHV2 integrated power management 10A buck converter. This is a high performance device that achieves a maximum efficiency of up to 95.1%, while maintaining a low output voltage ripple and noise. The buck converter also has an adjustable on/off threshold allowing it to achieve a minimum voltage drop of just 0.15V. Additionally, the board also provides protection features, including an over temperature shutdown and an over current protection switch.

The MIC2215-PPPBML-EV can be used in a variety of linear voltage regulator applications. In a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) system, it can be used to control the output voltages and currents for solar panels and other renewable energy systems.
