The MIC2230-S4YML-TR is an adjustable DC-DC switching voltage regulator with a wide input voltage range, capable of efficiently converting one DC input voltage from 0.8 V to 6 V into one adjustable output voltage from 0.8 V to 1.8V. It is particularly useful for applications that require a locked output voltage that is different from the input voltage, such as MCU- or DSP-based systems. It is designed to be used in space-critical applications such as notebooks, palmtops, and handheld systems; as well as in systems that require impedance isolation, like automotive systems, mobile handsets, and telecom equipment.
The MIC2230-S4YML-TR has a switching frequency of 500 kHz, ensuring rapid transient and high efficiency. Protection features such as over-voltage, under-voltage and thermal shutdown are built in to ensure safe, reliable operation. It features a very low quiescent current drain of 400 μA and can be enabled or disabled with an external signal.

Additional external components such as resistors, capacitors and coils are used to condition the output voltage, provide loop compensation and control the switching frequency.
The MIC2230-S4YML-TR\'s primary application is in automatically adjustable power supplies. It is also used in applications where a narrow voltage rating is required from a non-regulated input source, such as MCU, DSP, or power system designs.
