The initialization phase occurs before the system is powered for the first time, and it initiates the start-up sequence of the device. During this phase, the initial biases of the MOSFETs are pre-set, ramp current limit is enabled, and the device is in a low-impedance state. The operational phase occurs after system power has been applied and the initialization phase has been executed. The MIC2589-2BM hot swap controller regulates the output voltage in this phase and maintains steady state conditions by controlling the current direction, current peak limit, and temperature.The MIC2589-2BM hot swap controller limits inrush current, prevents overvoltage due to excessive load capacitance, reduces switching noise, and distributes the power efficiently to the power source. To ensure that the system’s output voltage remains within the safe voltage range, the MIC2589-2BM hot swap controller monitors the output voltage and current.
