MIC841HYC5-TR Linear Comparators

The MIC841HYC5-TR is an integrated dual comparator designed for applications requiring accurate DC threshold monitoring, adjustable level shifting and output voltage clamping. This device maintains a low cost, low power and wide temperature range from -40°C to +125°C.The MIC841HYC5-TR uses one “high” voltage reference terminal, one “low” voltage reference terminal and two precise voltage sensing inputs. This dual comparator also features a logic-level output that switches at precise thresholds for a wide range of logic-level implementation as well as a built-in push-pull rail-to-rail driver.The MIC841HYC5-TR is highly suitable for applications requiring precise level sensing, adjustable threshold monitoring and precise linear output level shifting. It is typically used in applications such as motor speed control, data acquisition systems, temperature monitoring, process control, industrial automation and medical device applications.The MIC841HYC5-TR is ideal for automotive and power supply module applications as well. It requires only one power supply and operates on standard 5 V supply. Its dual comparators also provide separate open-drain outputs.The MIC841HYC5-TR employs an advanced linear-comparator architecture designed to handle input offsets, so that precise triggering levels can be set. The output can be clamped to the reference voltage sources, thereby avoiding the need for an external clamping circuit. It is also capable of driving loads up to 150 mA (2) in an open-drain configuration.The MIC841HYC5-TR uses a unique window comparator configuration whereby the two-input levels are compared to the same reference. This allows the device to switch from low-to-high or from high-to-low due to a change in the difference between the two input levels.
