RF transmitters are common components used to transmit signals. One RF transmitter in particular, the MICRF112YMM, is the latest development in the line of high accuracy, low power transmitters. This transmitter is specifically designed to provide sensor remote sensing applications with low power consumption and high accuracy.
This new product has an operable range of -41 to +85 degrees Celsius, and is designed to transmit both analog and digital data across the airwaves with a low power consumption (0.2 to 2.6 μA). It has an extended frequency range of 4.60 to 5.25 GHz, to help with the accuracy of transmission.
The programmable active output power range of the MICRF112YMM is wide: 0 to -34 dBm, which can be used to support transmission distances of up to 200 feet. It even supports transmission coding features, getting rid of the need to write code for each transmission. In addition, the MICRF112YMM also has supports for low power mode to help conserve energy when transmission is not necessary.
In terms of broadcasting, the MICRF112YMM has improved that process, as well. It uses frequency hopping spread spectrum technology, which is designed to reduce noise and avoid interference with other transmissions. In other words, data is sent in bursts across multiple frequencies, rather than in one continuous signal over one frequency. This technique allows the device to be much more accurate, and avoid contention with other devices.
To use the MICRF112YMM, it must be connected via the MHF4 interface, which is a four-pin configuration. The configuration includes two pins to connect the antenna for transmission, one pin for the power supply and one pin for the control. As for the power source, it can be connected either to a 5V or 25V bus, and will draw 0.2 to 2.6 μA from the power line. The control allows for the device to be programmed before transmission begins, and provides an indication of successful transmission.
The MICRF112YMM works by modulating an audio signal’s frequency and amplitude before it is sent over the airwaves. The modulation is required to reach the required bandwidth, as well as to prevent transmission interference from other devices. The frequency and amplitude of the signal are determined by the MHF4 interface pins, and an MCU (microcontroller) controls all transmission activities. The frequency of the signal also affects the power range that it can reach, as described above.
In summary, the MICRF112YMM is a high-accuracy, low-power RF transmitter for both analog and digital signals. Its wide range of transmission frequencies and power ranges make it suitable for a range of applications, and its frequency hopping feature and low power mode make it ideal for avoiding other signals and saving energy when transmission is not necessary.
