MICRF219AYQS-TR RF/IF and RFID

The MICRF219AYQS-TR RF receiver is a low-cost, low-power, highly integrated monolithic device used in various wireless applications such as remote control, alarm systems, vehicle tracking, audio streaming, fine motor control, radio frequency identification (RFID) tags, and medical implants. It is a self-contained, low-power, integrated receiver operating in the 868–870 MHz frequency band. The MICRF219AYQS-TR receiver includes an operating voltage range of 1.8–3.6 V and a range of up to 50 feet. The integrated low-noise amplifier (LNA) and signal conditioning circuit provide a very low current consumption of only 9.2 µA and an exceptionally low noise figure of -115 dBm. The wideband LNA can receive strong signals emanating from a distance of up to 50 feet with a high synthesizer phase noise of -100 dBc/Hz.

The ADC can operate from a wide input signal range between 0 and 28 V, with 12-bit resolution that provides a noise-free measurement range of up to 12 bits using the internal temperature compensation feature. Additionally, the receiver includes a PLL (phase-locked loop) to lock the receiving frequency, ensuring that the signal remains locked to the proper frequency while in use. The PLL also synchronizes the ADC to the received signal, allowing for precise timing of data transmission.

The integrated AGC (automatic gain control) allows the receiver to adjust its gain automatically and optimize performance in different range conditions, which can result in greater signal reception range and improved immunity to interference. Additionally, the receiver features a low-IF (intermediate frequency) of 400 KHz, which improves signal-to-noise ratio and reduces image noise.
