The MICRF229YQS-TR is a two-stage RF receiver designed for low current, low voltage and low power operation in the 470-550MHz global ISM frequency band. It features low current consumption, less than 1.35mA in the active state, while having excellent linearity, low noise and robust performance. With a power down current consumption of 0.1μA, the module offers excellent power efficiency. Its narrow bandwidth and high image rejection performance make the MICRF229YQS-TR suitable for use in various applications such as remote security and control systems,consumer electronics devices and data transmission systems.
The working principle of the MICRF229YQS-TR is based on the superheterodyne technique, in which signals are received on an antenna, amplified and down-converted to a fixed intermediate frequency. The received RF signal is fed to a low noise amplifier, which is followed by a mixer and a local oscillator. The output of the mixer is filtered to provide intermediate frequency (IF) signal. Further, the IF signal is low-pass filtered and amplified to get the desired signals.
The MICRF229YQS-TR features a specialized automatic gain control (AGC) which can be used to maintain a constant output power level over varying input power. It provides enhanced immediate frequency accuracy and a fast pull-in range in those applications where frequency stability is critical, such as remote security and control systems. The unit is equipped with an adjustable RF input sensitivity and a programmable output power management function.
The MICRF229YQS-TR is designed using the 0.18μm CMOS process with integrated on-die 2.6V regulator. It has an operating supply voltage of 1.8V and a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, making it ideal for use in automotive and other applications which require a wide temperature range.
