This increases the flexibility of the PLL by allowing the user to choose a range of different frequency pulses at a single reference frequency.

The MK2703BSLFTR also includes a very low jitter, low-power voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) which is designed for low-noise and low-power total phase jitter. The VCO has a tuning range of between 20 KHz and 1GHz and supports external capacitors and VCO bypass control.
