The MLV0402E31403T has been developed by AEC-Q200 certified manufacturer TriQuint as a low-capacitance, low-leakage, low-resistance TVS for ESD protection of high-speed interfaces such as USB 2.0, HDMI, Ethernet, and audio.The MLV0402E31403T is a low capacitive, low leakage (1.0pF@25Vdc max), low resistance (15mΩ) TVS with 350W peak pulse power dissipation. It features 3.5V to 24V voltage operating range, and is available in two packages of FCA (SOT-23) and PKE (0402). This TVS is suitable for protecting data line applications such as USB, HDMI, Ethernet, and audio from voltage spikes caused by electrostatic discharge or electrical disturbances.The MLV0402E31403T is a multipurpose, low capacitance, low leakage, low resistance TVS that is able to protect a wide range of high-speed interfaces and prevent damage caused by electrostatic discharge (ESD), lightning, contact and induction from electrical disturbances. It features a 3.5V to 24V voltage operating range, 350W peak pulse power dissipation, and is available in two packages of FCA (SOT-23) and PKE (0402).The primary function of this MLV0402E31403T is to protect circuits from voltage spikes such as those caused by electrostatic discharge or electrical disturbances. It is designed to be connected across critical nodes or lines in the circuit. When a voltage spike with a peak value exceeding the breakdown voltage of the TVS is applied, the TVS provides a clamping action that absorbs the energy caused by the voltage spike and limits the voltage to a predetermined value.The working principle of the MLV0402E31403T is based on a two-stage process. When the voltage on the protection node exceeds the breakdown voltage of the TVS, it quickly begins to conduct in the avalanche mode. This process is called the clamping action. The second stage is the absorption of the energy to protect the connected line or node from excessive voltage. The MLV0402E31403T is designed to provide excellent clamping performance and low capacitance so that it can protect data line applications from voltage spikes.The MLV0402E31403T has found a range of applications in both digital and analog communication circuits that require low capacitance and high ESD protection levels for high-speed data communication. It is ideal for protection of USB 2.0, HDMI, Ethernet, and audio interfaces along with consumer electronic products such as smartphones, tablets, laptops, digital cameras, and home entertainment systems.The MLV0402E31403T is an excellent choice for high speed data line protection due to its low capacitance, low leakage, and low resistance design.
