MMA003AA is a Gallium Nitride (GaN) based RF Amplifier that is shipped directly with plastic packaging from the manufacturers, Alpha and Omega Semiconductor Inc. It is multipurpose device with low cost for high performance. The single GaN amplifier can also be used as a multi-stage RF amplifier. Currently, with its low cost and exible form factor, it is widely used in RF applications.The MMA003AA offers superior output power, current efficiency and linearity in comparison to other currently available single-stage or multi-stage RF ampli ers. It is specifically designed to be used in applications, such as point-to-point and point-to-multipoint radio systems with high power requirements. The product offers a very wide bandwidth from 800MHz to 6GHz.The MMA003AA is ideal for applications such as base stations and high power Radio Frequency Data Broadcast (RFDATAB) systems. It provides a very low thermal resistance due to its low impedance design. It is capable of handling input levels from -35dBm to +35dBm, and it is capable of delivering signal levels up to 159dBm.The MMA003AA is composed of three stage ampli ers. The rst stage amplifier is a high-speed, high-power wide band GaN transistor. It is designed to operate in Class A, allowing for high linearity and low distortion. The second stage amplifier is also a GaN based transistor designed for Class A operation, while the third stage amplifier is a differential amplifier consisting of two Field Effect Transistors (FETs). The output of the second stage transmits to the third stage, boosting its power and linearity. The MMA003AA features a stable input-output impedance match, with a typical impedance of 50 ohms at all frequencies across the wide operational bandwidth. It is easy to install, requires no adjustment and is protected from electrical and electrostatic discharges (ESD) and thermal runaway.The MMA003AA’s excellent Class A performance, combined with its wide bandwidth and low thermal impedance makes it an ideal choice for applications such as 2G/4G communications, point-to-point radio systems, and microwave systems.
