The MMA9555LR1 is capable of detecting a slight change in acceleration of 0.1 g and has a linear angular range of up to 150°/sec.The MMA9555LR1 supports both autonomous and host-controlled operation. In autonomous mode, the MMA9555LR1 acts as its own stand-alone motion sensor and can operate independently without requiring a host. It has integrated digital signal conditioning hardware which enables it to calculate statistics such as mean, maximum, minimum acceleration and jerk. This makes it possible to detect vibration and linear acceleration along an axis regardless of the vibration’s frequency or amplitude.In host-controlled mode, the MMA9555LR1 can be used as a highly precise motion-sensing device to monitor and measure mechanical or other motions. The MMA9555LR1 can be used to track the motions of robotic arms, for example, enabling highly accurate and precise motion control. It can also be used in different gesture recognition applications such as recognizing user hand gestures for gaming and other operations.Overall, the MMA9555LR1 is a highly versatile and reliable single-chip motion sensor from Freescale Semiconductor.
