The MN13811SQU is a low threshold voltage and low standby current supervisor family with reset output specially designed for microprocessor system. It is an ideal solution for security systems, medical and automotive applications. This PMIC - supervisors device consists of a low-power comparator, an internal voltage reference, and a low-power control circuit with a reset output. The device supports an active-low reset and can be used as a power supply supervisor, power-on reset generator or reset timer. It is combined with high accuracy, low cost and low-power operation.
The working principle of the MN13811SQU supervisor regulates the supply voltage VCC, and the output of reset actually works as a power switch to turn on or off the power supply VCC. It is composed of three parts, the reset installation circuit, the voltage detection circuit and the reset output circuit.When the supply voltage VCC is lower than the preset threshold, the reset output will be triggered and pull down to a low level, which is usually 0V. Once the power supply accurately supplied reaches the preset threshold, the reset output will switch to an inactive state, usually as a high level. Therefore, it can ensure the power on/off of microprocessor system is stable and reasonable, and also monitor and protect the microprocessor system.
The MN13811SQU is available in both a 5-pin SOT23-5L and a 3-pin SOT23-3L package. It is designed to operate properly over a wide range of temperatures and input voltages. The supply voltage is easily adjustable and ranges from 2.3 to 1.235V, with a range of adjustment of 1.1595V to 1.231V.It offers a highly accurate low threshold voltage of 1.21V that provides a great amount of system flexibility. The low quiescent current makes this device an ideal choice for low power systems, and the low reset threshold reduces overall noise and power waste, helping to increase the system\'s efficiency.
The reset output of the MN13811SQU supervisor has the advantages of fast triggering and low output current. The function of reset is initiated by the noise generated by the power supply and therefore, it is also highly resistant to EMI/RFI noise, making it suitable for any high noise environment. It also has UVLO (Under Voltage Lock Out) protection which keeps the reset active at low VCC levels, preventing improper operation of the microprocessor.
The MN13811SQU supervisor is capable of providing an accurate, low power reset pulse that can reset the microprocessor or other peripherals with a minimum of design effort.
