The MOC8113W optoisolator is a transistor, photovoltaic output type optocoupler. It features an integrated circuit optocoupler with a high-speed photodiode connected to a high-power EMTT transistor switch, isolated by a field effect transistor (FET). The optocoupler is designed with low power loss and high noise immunity, making it ideally suited for high-speed switching applications.
The optocoupler operates in a three-step process. First, light from the LED is received by the photodiode, which generates a small electrical signal. This signal is then amplified by the power transistor, which amplifies the input signal to the desired level. The resulting amplified signal is then used to control the output switch.
