The MP1518DJE-LF-Z is a high-efficiency LED driver. It is a dual-channel boost-mode constant voltage/constant current driver designed to drive LED strings in series up to a maximum of 36V. The driver is designed to drive any LED chains that fall within the 0.3V to 36V voltage and 0.1A to 2A current range. MP1518DJE-LF-Z is designed to offer wide flexibility to optimize power consumption. It has a high switching frequency of up to 1.2MHz in continuous mode, and the switching frequency can be programmed from 100KHz to 1.2MHz with an external resistor. It can operate in both constant voltage and constant current modes, with a precise 0.5 V voltage and 0.02 A current control. The MP1518DJE-LF-Z also features integrated switches for both channels, a low current shutdown function, an advanced under-voltage lockout (UVLO) function, an over-voltage protection (OVP) function, an over-current protection (OCP) function, a thermal shutdown protection (TSD) function, a soft start function and a dimming function. MP1518DJE-LF-Z is suitable for a wide range of lighting applications, including residential, commercial and industrial lighting. The driver can be used in both LED and LED-backlit LCD displays. It can be used for LED strings, LED signs, LED backlighting, LED dimmers and LED lighting fixtures. The driver offers great efficiency and features a low voltage start up of 5V and an output current limit of up to 2A. It also features a wide range of dimming options, including pulse width modulation (PWM) and resistor dimming. The PWM dimming is adjustable from 0 to 109khz and the resistor dimming has a setting of up to 25kOhms.The driver also comes with a wide array of protections including UVLO, over-current protection (OCP), over-voltage protection (OVP) and thermal shutdown protection (TSD). The OCP protection will limit the output current when it exceeds the preset limit and the TSD protection will trip and shut down the driver if the temperature rises above a set point.The MP1518DJE-LF-Z has a wide input voltage range from 6V to 38V, making it very versatile and capable of driving a variety of LED strings. It has a low quiescent current of only 5µA and low dissipation for improved system efficiency and reduced component costs.
