Application Field

The MP1C-5 float and level sensor is used for liquid level detection in wide range of open and closed containers. Typical applications include water level measurement in tanks, non-potable water level monitoring, sump pump float control, boilers, and open tanks. The MP1C-5 is also used in pump control applications, such as sump pump control, monitoring high/low water levels in irrigation tanks, and controlling pump run-time for timed filling applications.

Working Principle

The MP1C-5 typically consists of two components, a float coupled with a level switch. The float is attached to a lever arm and when the fluid reaches the float, the lever arm gives an indication of the liquid level in the container. The level switch is connected to the lever arm and is used to sense when the float rises or falls. When the float rises to a preset level, the level switch will activate an electrical signal indicating that the liquid level in the tank has been reached. The output of the signal can be used to activate a pump, switch on a light, or other system controls.

The MP1C-5 can be used with a variety of float materials, including polypropylene, stainless steel, and polyethylene. This variety of materials allows it to be used in a wide range of temperature and pressure conditions. It is also designed to be resistant to corrosion and abrasion, and can be used in applications with a wide range of viscosity liquids.
