It is structured to provide boost factor, soft start , current mode control, capacitor-free design and clean DC output. It has a wide input voltage range and multiple output voltage settings for a variety of applications.The MP3309GQG-P is a monolithic, low-voltage operated switching regulator controller providing high accuracy and adjustable output current over a wide range of conditions. The MP3309GQG-P’s integrated features include a wide input voltage range (8-60V), comprehensive protection features, and an ultra-low output voltage. It is recommended for applications such as LED strips, LED bulbs, LED downlights, LED lamps, LED strips, and a variety of lighting applications that require accurate and precise output control.Working PrincipleThe MP3309GQG-P works by controlling the power delivered to a light-emitting diode (LED) load. The PWM controller uses an input voltage to switch a high side pass power MOSFET that is connected in series with the load. The PWM signal is generated from the voltage feedback from the input voltage and the output voltage.The series pass element is configured to sense the output voltage and current in order to accurately adjust the power to the LED load. This is achieved by adjusting the duty-cycle of the switching MOSFET, which, in turn, changes the electrical characteristics of the LED load. The duty-cycle of the switching MOSFET is adjusted to achieve a stable output voltage over a wide range of input voltage and load conditions.The MP3309GQG-P has built-in overvoltage protection and undervoltage protection, which provides additional protection against overvoltage, undervoltage, and current limiting. The MP3309GQG-P also provides short-circuit protection and thermal protection. The short-circuit protection prevents overcurrent to the load while the thermal protection prevents the switching MOSFET from overheating.The MP3309GQG-P is designed to provide a wide range of output current that can be adjusted by changing the MOSFET duty cycle and input voltage. The range of output current covers up to 2.1A at up to 60V input.
