Operation

MP4569GN is a voltage regulator capable of controlling output voltage from 0.5V to 15V with a supply voltage ranging from 3V to 30V. The output voltage can be adjusted through an external resistor connected to the ADJ pin. The entire circuit consists of an internal power switch, oscillator, feedback pots compensation and an overcurrent protection circuit. The internal power switch is driven by a current mode control oscillator that is regulated by an external resistor, allowing flexible system design.

Working Principle

The MP4569GN is a PWM (pulse width modulation) voltage regulator. The circuit consists of an internal power switch, oscillator, feedback pots compensation and an overcurrent protection circuit. The internal power switch is driven by a current mode control oscillator. The reference voltage is generated by the oscillator, which is set to the desired output voltage by an external resistor connected to the adjustable pin. The feedback pot controls the output voltage such that it is equivalent to the reference voltage.

The power switch is activated by the oscillator. It will take a certain amount of time (determined by the frequency and duty cycle of the oscillator) to charge the output filter capacitor to the reference voltage. When the voltage reaches the reference voltage, the current mode control comparator turns off the power switch and the output capacitor is discharged by the negative cycle of the oscillator. This action will start again with the increasing reference voltage of the oscillator to maintain constant output voltage.
