Working Principle

The working principle of the MP8709EN-LF-Z is that it uses a single-ended input voltage from 2.5V~6V and converts it into a precise regulated output voltage through a number of internal circuits, including a control circuit, MOSFETs, and an external inductor.

First, the input voltage is applied to the input of the converter, and the control circuit regulates it to a precise value. At the same time, the control circuit, through two MOSFETs (high-side and low-side) act as a switch and make the inductor recharge continuously.

When the control circuit makes the switch closes, current passes through the inductor which then polarizes itself in the same direction. When switch is opened, the inductor discharges current to the load and the output voltage reaches to a precise predetermined voltage value.
