MPC8308CVMAFD is an embedded multiprocessor system based on NXP\'s QorIQ LS1044 series processor system-on-chip (SoC). The QorIQ LS1044 Series is the latest in high-performance, SoC-level embedded processing systems, providing advanced capabilities for mission-critical and data-intensive applications and platforms.
The MPC 8308CVMAFD features two types of processors, the main processor core and the mezzanine processor core. The main processor core is a multi-core Power Architecture-based processor and the mezzanine processor core is a members of ARM Cortex A9 family. It is an integrated microcontroller with Ethernet, DDR3 and multiple I/O interfaces.
The MPC8308CVMAFD is powered by the QorIQ LS1044A SoC that features an eight-core processor complex, four 64-bit 1 GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor cores, two 64-bit 2 GHz Cortex-A57 processor cores, plus 64-bit DDR3 memory controller, 32-bit RISC, PCI Express and Gigabit Ethernet controller. It also includes a power management unit (PMU), a secure boot unit, 2D video graphic engine, display controller module, serial UARTs, L2 cache controller and DMA controller.
The MPC8308CVMAFD supports a wide range of applications and systems, from high performance server and data center applications, to embedded and mobile applications. It offers the performance, flexibility, power efficiency and scalability to support a variety of workloads, while providing built-in security measures to help ensure secure operation of the system.
