TVS (Transient Voltage Suppression) diodes, known as suppressor diodes, are primarily used to protect the sensitive electronics within electronic circuits from the sudden, destructive voltage surge known as Electrostatic Discharge (ESD). In general, the Electronic Design Automation Industry (EDA) relies on TVS diodes for low leakage current, effective ESD protection, and for good storage characteristics.
