<p>TVS - Diodes play an important role in the protection of modern integrated circuits. The MSMP9.0A-M3/89A is a high-speed, very low capacitance bidirectional TVS device designed to protect electronics from damage caused by electrostatic discharge (ESD).</p><p>The MSMP9.0A-M3/89A is capable of handling ESD strikes up to 30 kilovolts contact discharge (in accordance with human body model, IEC 61000-4-2) and up to 30 kilovolts of air discharge (in accordance with IEC 61000-4-2). The device features a very low leakage current of less than 0.1µA at an operating voltage of 9.0V. Moreover, it has a fast response time of less than 100ns, with a peak pulse rating of 500W at 8/20μs rise time.</p><p>The MSMP9.0A-M3/89A is a great choice for a wide range of applications including automotive, consumer, industrial, and medical electronics. It is particularly well suited for portable and handheld devices which may be exposed to ESD.</p><p>The working principle of the MSMP9.0A-M3/89A is quite simple. When the device is subjected to a ESD strike, it starts conducting current through the bidirectional protection element and clamps the transient voltage to an acceptable level. The device is designed to handle transient voltage spikes of both polarities and it is capable of withstanding multiple ESD strikes. The device also features a low Vf (forward voltage drop) which helps to lower the power dissipation and increase the protection level.</p><p>The MSMP9.0A-M3/89A is an ideal ESD protection device for a wide range of applications. It is capable of handling 30 kilovolts of ESD pulses and its fast response time ensures protection against ESD damage. The device features a low Vf which helps to further enhance the protection level.
