MSQC6942C is a kind of basic character&numeric display module, belongs to Display Modules - LED Character and Numeric. It provides a wide view of character/text display in various designed patterns. MSQC6942C is a serial input display module that includes 20 characters of four 16－segment alphanumeric LEDs, each character is composed of 17 LED segments, to displays letters or digits from 0 through 9 and some special characters. The characters are displayed one by one, providing a simple ease of use in various applications.

Working Principle: The MSQC6942C is driven by a small four bit microcontroller which is located on the PCB. Each 4bit microcontroller consists of a 4bit microprocessor, a small RAM and a 4bit input/output device. The microcontroller constantly polls the serial input port, it then interpretes the serial data, stores the character code in a local RAM and processes the character code into the corresponding display pattern. The microcontroller also controls the LED current to ensure correct display brightness.
