Evaluation and Demonstration Boards and Kits

Multi-CNVTR-EVM is a multi-channel converter evaluation and demonstration board, primarily designed for multi-channel analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converter evaluation. It is used to measure the dynamic performance, filter response, and accuracy of multi-channel AD and DA converters. The board is powered by a single +5V DC supply.

Application Field:

Multi-CNVTR-EVM is applied in various areas, such as waveform and image sensors, medical instrumentation, automotive, industrial and control applications. The board has eighteen input channels and eighteen outputs which are available for a variety of two-way signal conversions. From the eighteen channels, four are 10-bit analog-to-digital, four are 16-bit, six are 14-bit Digital-to-Analog, and four are 16-bit.

Working Principle:

The Multi-CNVTR-EVM board uses a high-performance FPGA-based architecture to perform two-way signal conversion. The AD and DA interface are managed by high-speed serial transceivers in the FPGA. The digital control logic is implemented using CPLD. This design makes sure that the board is capable to deliver fast input and output rates. A Pmod connector is used to provide external connections for analog input/output. A USB2.0 mini-AB connector is used for programming the FPGA and to provide connectivity with a single PC.

Featured on the board are two external clock sources, SMA connectors, USB power connectors, USB mini-AB connectors and four high-speed chip LEDs. There are also two buttons which are used for resetting the board\'s FPGA and CPLD. An on-board power LED and an activity LED indicate the power status and activity of the board.

The Multi-CNVTR-EVM board operates with the support of several software packages, such as Vivado Design Suite, AD/DA Evaluations Kits, LabVIEW and MATLAB. It comes with an extensive library of connectors, devices and interfaces for fast and easy system integration. Documentation is provided for the most common applications, including signal processing, communications, industrial automation, medical devices and robotics.
