MV-4616 is a compact and robust microprocessor-based system for monitoring and controlling industrial process and plant automation applications. It features flexible and comprehensive programming capabilities, various data logging options, and versatile networking options to enable communication to a wide variety of controllers, such as PLCs, I/O systems, and HMIs. The MV-4616 system can be used in a variety of applications, ranging from basic manufacturing facilities to process and power plants. In addition, the MV-4616 is suitable for industrial and commercial applications such as: building controls, fire and security systems, HVAC/temperature management, lighting control, and industrial process control.
The MV-4616 system consists of 5 components- CPU, UNIT, I/O UNIT, PC, and HMI. The powerful and versatile CPU is a 32-bit processor that is capable of running various programs for control and data acquisition. The CPU is connected to the other components via a proprietary bus interface, known as the I/O BUS, to exchange information and control messages. The powerful UNIT is connected to the CPU and provides the necessary local I/O modules for data acquisition and control. The I/O UNIT’s ports can be connected to any external devices, such as sensors and actuators, for additional data acquisition or control. The PC is connected to the CPU via the I/O BUS to provide support for programming and data logging. Lastly, the HMI is connected to the CPU and is used as an interface between the system user and the MV-4616 system.
The working principle of the MV-4616 is quite simple. The CPU reads input data from the local UNIT or any external device connected to it via the I/O BUS. The CPU then processes this data and sends the control/command signals to the local UNIT or any external device. The local UNIT or any external device then performs the necessary actions according to the received control/command signals. All these operations are done in the same fashion on a cyclic basis, allowing the CPU to continuously read input data, process the data, and send it to the local UNIT or any external device.
