LED Indication - DiscreteThe MV5437 is a 5.5 mm bi–color, common anode LED specifically intended for indication applications. Its slim–profile and low profile voltage is ideal for use in control panels and other confined space applications such as in many computing and audio/visual applications and with instrumentation equipment.The MV5437 is available in green, yellow and red and common anode configurations. The green and yellow versions feature a typical peak wavelength of 577 and 591 nm respectively, allowing for extremely clear and vivid colors. The red LEDs have a typcial peak on–state voltage of 6 V, making them suitable for low–voltage applications.The MV5437 consists of two sets of LEDs, each of which is connected to an anode terminal. A typical application of the MV5437 involves connecting a resistor to each of the anode terminals to provide a reference current. This reference current sets the current flowing through each of the sets of LEDs, and thus, their respective brightness. The operation of the MV5437 is such that, when the resistor at each anode terminal is connected correctly, both LEDs will light up simultaneously.The MV5437 LED can be used in a variety of applications, such as control panels, audio/visual equipment, instrumentation, and in automotive dashboard indication. This LED is ideal for applications where space or voltage limitations must be taken into account. It is also a suitable choice for applications where two differently coloured lights are desired, yet the space requirements are critical.In general, the MV5437 LED is a two–colour LED that can be used in numerous application fields. Its low–profile voltage and slim–profile make it an ideal choice for control panels and other confined space applications, such as in many computing and audio/visual applications and with instrumentation equipment.
