The MVS-1311 (3.50) is a series of 5-phase stepping motor controllers (SMCs). They provide excellent performance for operating a wide variety of motors in applications as diverse as robotics, medical imaging, instrumentation, aerospace, and industrial automation processes. The MVS-1311 (3.50) can be used in closed loop and open loop control systems.A SMC is an electronic device that controls the speed and movement of a motor through various stages of a motion control cycle. It takes inputs from sensors and motion programs and converts these inputs into electrical signals that are sent to the motor. The motor, in turn, interprets these signals and causes movement to occur in a series of steps. Step/Acceleration is when the SMC rotates the motor a certain amount of steps, depending on the programmed maximum speed and acceleration time; Deceleration/Dwell is the gradual slowing of a motor before stopping; FBa and FBd are used to control the acceleration and deceleration when the motor changes directions; Coasting is when the motor is not receiving any inputs from the SMC while it continues to move; and Stop/Brake is when the SMC stops providing any power to the motor and brakes it to stop it from rotating.The MVS-1311 (3.50) can be used in applications such as motors driven by hydraulic, pneumatic, and stepper motor drives.
